Severe lung damage caused by "Vaping"

A new report about the damage caused by “vaping'“ or “e-cigarettes” is seriously alarming.

I’ve written multiple articles about the dangers of “vaping'“ over the past year.

It seems that every time I receive a new research journal, I read about a new piece of research which discovers new ways “vaping devices” are causing harm to users.

What’s most alarming is how these devices are being marketed as “safe for kids”, and you see teenagers all over the place using them. I see at every time I step into a mall: kids sitting at a Starbucks with a giant cloud above them.

In recent months, there have been multiple reports of severe lung injury and death caused by vaping devices all over the US.

A new report by the Mayo Clinic provides some light on the matter:

When the Mayo Clinic analysed the lung tissue of people whose lungs were damaged by “vaping”, they were surprised to discover that the kind of damage they saw is almost identical to the damage they see in the lungs of industrial workers after a “chemical accident”.

In other words: when you see on TV a massive explosion at some large industrial or chemical plant, you see people being carried away on stretchers by paramedics wearing oxygen masks, trying to save them from the lung damage caused by breathing in toxic chemical fumes: that’s the exact same kind of lung damage the doctors at the Mayo Clinic discovered in people whose lungs were damaged by “vaping”.

To quote Dr. Brandon Larsen, Surgical Pathologist at the Mayo Clinic: “To be honest, they look like the kind of change you would expect to see in an unfortunate worker in an industrial accident where a big barrel of toxic chemicals spills, and that person is exposed to toxic fumes and there is a chemical burn in the airways.”

“The injuries also look like those seen in people exposed to poisons like mustard gas, a chemical weapon used in World War I”.
