Major study reveals link between bodyweight & brain health

One of the largest studies on brain function was recently published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease (link below), revealing the significant impact of bodyweight on brain health.

In this study, researchers reviewed over 35,000 brain scans from over 17,000 individuals and concluded that low blood flow to the brain is the number 1 predictor of Alzheimer's disease, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, traumatic brain injury, addiction, suicide, and other conditions.

The study also showed that being overweight or obese severely impacted blood flow to the brain, thereby increasing the risk of all these neurological disorders.

This is significant because a large percentage of the global population is overweight or obese: in the US, 72% of people are overweight, and most countries are not far behind.

In fact, here are the % of overweight people in some of the Middle East countries:

- UAE: 43%

- Saudi: 36%

- Lebanon: 53.5%

- Jordan: 28%

- Kuwait: 43%

- Egypt: 62%

- Turkey: 32%

So if you care about the health of your brain and that of your loved ones, the single best thing you can start by doing is being in a healthy bodyweight range.
